ICC announced full schedule for Men’s T20 World Cup-2022 – India will again begin their campaign against Pakistan:

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-2022:

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-2022 is an eighth edition of Men’s T20 World Cup tournament. The Australia will be hosting the tournament, which begins on October 16th -2022 and ends on November 13th-2022. The world cup tournament has been generally held in every two years. However, the 2020 edition of the tournament was scheduled to takes place in Australia. But in July-2020, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the tournament has been postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic. In August 2020, the ICC also confirmed that Australia would host the rearranged tournament in 2022. Australia is the defending champions of last season-2021.

Sixteen nations will participate in the tournament, which will be played in seven venues of Australia – Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. It will be the first men’s global ICC tournament held in Australia since the 2015 World Cup and it is the rescheduled tournament of 2020 that was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic. The semi-finals would take place in Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval and the final match will be take place in Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.

  • Group-B : West Indies, Scotland, Two Qualifiers

Super-12 Stage:

  • Group-1: Australia, Afghanistan, England, New Zealand, Winners of Group-A and Runners-up of Group-B from first round.
  • Group-2: India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Winners of Group-B and Runners-up of Group-A from first round

Those first round matches will feature Sri Lanka, West Indies, Namibia and Scotland – who all made the Super 12 stage at last year’s event to gain automatic entry to this year’s tournament – plus four more teams that will come through a qualifying event this year.
