Sanju Samson was born into a Latin catholic family in Pulluvila in Thiruvananthapurma district in Kerala and his parent Samson Viswanath was a police constable at Delhi police department. His father used to be a football player who has played in Santhosh Trophy representing Delhi.
Even though his father was a footballer Sanju Samson always leaned in towards the game of cricket. He was trained under coach Yashpal DL DAV Model School, Shalimar Bagh. The turning point for Sanju Samson came when he was rejected for the Delhi-U13 team.
After which Samson Viswanath took voluntary retirement and moved back to Kerala where Sanju Samson and his brother to pursue his career in cricket. It was from here that he took his path in cricket and raised to glory in his young age.
