IPL 2022 Auction: ‘BABY AB De Villiers’ ready to ROCK in IPL Auction, wins ICC U-19 World Cup player of the tournament award

Indian Premier League (IPL)-2022:

The IPL-2022 is a fifteenth season and it is a professional T20 Cricket league established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007. The fifteenth edition will see the expansion of the league, with the addition of two new franchises. In August 2021, the BCCI confirmed that two new franchises would join the IPL-2022 league. The new franchises names are Ahmedabad and Lucknow franchises. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is the defending champions of last season.

Mega Auction of IPL-2022:

The mega auction for the IPL-2022 is to be held on February 12 and 13, 2022. The venue of the auction is Bengaluru. It will be a two-day event like the 2018 mega auction.

‘BABY AB De Villiers’ ready to rock in IPL-2022 Auction:

South African BABY AB de Villiers (Dewald Brevis) has won the Player of the tournament ICC U19 World Cup-2022. He is nicknamed as the “Baby AB de Villiers”- Brevis’s batting style resembles that of legendary AB de Villiers who is not part of the IPL 2022 Auction after announcing retirement from all forms of the game last year.

Dewald Brevis is a batting all-rounder who has scored 506 runs and also picked up 7 wickets for South Africa. He scored a couple of centuries and 3 fifties to set him up for IPL 2022 mega auction. He has a wide range of 360-degree shots. He is part of the 590-players shortlisted from BCCI and has registered himself for a Rs.20 lakh base price.
He has named Virat Kohli & AB de Villiers as two of his favorite cricketers and is a big fan of IPL. He is vying for a deal from the favourite IPL franchise RCB. The exciting youngster is on the radar of many IPL franchises and could be a big hit in the upcoming IPL-2022 auction.
He had said in a video posted on the International Cricket Council (ICC), “For me, one of my biggest dreams is to play for the Proteas. I’m such a big fan of IPL and I would love to play the IPL for RCB. I love RCB because Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers were there. I’m a big fan of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers”.
