In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner and his teammate Johnny Bairstow chat live on Instagram. During this, both of them said that Sunrisers are the best bowlers to bowl in the most death overs after the Hyderabad team. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the title under the captaincy of David Warner in 2016.
Sunrises Hyderabad captain David Warner believes his team’s bowling in ‘death’ overs is “probably the best” in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 2016 champions boast of a fine combination of pacers and spinners. Sunrises Hyderabad has a fast bowler like Bhuvneshwar Kumar of India and leg spinner like Rashid Khan of Afghanistan being the prominent names. They two have been a key to ensuring the team remains difficult to beat home and away and regularly makes it to the playoffs, winning the title in 2016.

However, India’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has bagged the purple cap twice, captain David Warner thinks Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) possesses the best death-overs bowling attack in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Warner said in an Instagram live session with Sunrisers teammate Jonny Bairstow, “We’ve got a very good squad. One of the best things about our squad is we have great depths in our bowling.”
He added, “We have got good upfront swing bowling and our death bowling is probably the best in the competition.” While Warner has been on the SRH side since 2014, Bairstow joined the Sunrisers last season.
Warner and Bairstow formed an outstanding opening pair for SRH last season, where they both dominated the bowling, before leaving the Indian shores towards the business end of the tournament because of 2019 World Cup commitments. They shared some brilliant opening partnerships including a 185 stand against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While Warner scored 692 runs from 12 games, Bairstow made 445 runs in 10 matches in their last season IPL.
Asked about what they liked most about batting with each other, both said running between the wickets was a major contributing factor in their successful partnership.
Warner said, “I love running between wickets and I think our energy running between the wickets is outstanding. I know how fast your ability and game awareness is. It’s one of my favorite things to do and a strong point for us.”
Bairstow said, “Yes definitely there is an understanding between us. We can both gauge if it’s 2 runs we don’t have to look; it’s just touching and go. And that started really early on, we were getting twos when we had no right to get them. You put pressure on opposition like that and then it eases off pressure on us.”
He said, “The race between the wickets is very important. This is the strong side of both of us. We believe in taking pressure from the beginning with one or two runs.”
While teams should have ideally been playing the 13th edition of the IPL 2020 at this point in time, due to the coronavirus outbreak has seen all sporting events either getting suspended or called off.
