As the IPL 2021 resumes after the halt due to the worldwide pandemic many experts are speculating who will come out at the top of the tournament and win the title this year. Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has voiced out his opinion on the current status of the tournament and the teams. In his interview he has mentioned the hurdles that the RCB team will have to go through to win this year’s tournament.
In the interview Gambhir said that the RCB’s star player Virat Kohli and ABD will have a huge role to play in the remaining tournament to help their team win the title. The main concern will be Virat Kohli who is coming in to this tournament after playing 4 test matches against England. Now he has to adapt to the short form of the tournament with very less time.
In Test match the main concern will be to tackle the ball and score runs in smooth pace where as in the T20 format the player have to score runs aggressively. As we have seen in the previous IPL season the pitch in UAE are all friendly to batsman. So Virat must adapt to the short format soon to help his team win this tournament.
Another concern for RCB will be ABD who is returning to this tournament with literally no games in recent times. With pandemic and his retirement ABD is having of lack of field time in his career. With very less touch with bat and ball ABD will be entering this crucial half of the tournament and lot will be expected from him. There are some power hitters in RCB team who have performed splendid in the tournament so far. But there will be lot expected from these two veterans in this latter part of the tournament.
Currently RCB is at the 3rd place in the IPL 2021 points table and by the way they were playing in this tournament RCB had a lot of chance to win this year’s IPL. However this long break will be a boon or a curse to lot of them and this has to be seen by the performance of the teams in the upcoming tournament.

• Together they’ve been part of 30 wins, in those 30 they’ve won 19 Man of the Match.
ABD – 14
Kohli – 5
There’s two more MoM for Kohli in this period but RCB lost that match. pic.twitter.com/YCmDsapgOZ
