In the India tour of the New Zealand Test series, India is in very place right now. After losing the first test of the tournament Indian player Prithvi Shaw was criticized for his poor performance in the tournament.

In between the two games, Prithvi Shaw’s place in the playing XI has become a huge doubt. During the training session, Prithvi Shaw missed the training on Thursday. It was highly doubted whether he will make it to the playing XI for the 2nd game of the tour.

However Indian coach Ravi Sastri announced that Prithvi Shaw will play for India in the 2nd Test of the series. With everything on the line, India was nervous right from the start. As they are asked to bat first again after losing the toss.

The match was delayed by 45 min at the start of the game. Once Prithvi Shaw started his innings it was like the reply to all his critics. In just 60 balls, he scored his maiden fifty in the foreign soil.

By scoring the 50 he has become the second youngest Indian to score 50 in New Zealand. The first place in this record is held by none other than Sachin Tendulkar by 16 years 291 days.

This innings of Shaw has been vastly congratulated by many legends around the world. The most important appreciation came from veteran Indian player VVS Laxman. He mentioned that Shaw has worked on the way he was dismissed in the first test and corrected it accordingly. It showed in the way he batted in this test match.

India in the first innings scored 242 runs for the loss of all wickets. It is now up to Indian bowlers to contain the runs of their opposition and take the game. For that, we have to wait and see how Indian bowlers respond with the ball.
